What do you do when the weather is so very bad you imagine to be in the rest of Europe? Catch some fresh air in Ericeira, just 35 km from Lisbon. During the Second World War a haven for refugees from all over Europe, fleeing the Nazi’s in neutral Portugal, it is now a refuge for those who seek to turn aside their busy life. It´s beautiful, the food is delicious (try Mar a Vista, Rua de Santo António, nr 16 for seafood — not for its interior) and the people are – indeed – relaxed. Judge for yourself 😉
